Zagora Desert Trip Itinerary

Day 1 Marrakech to Ouarzazate, Draa Valley and Zagora

Depart from Marrakech at 7:00 AM and start your journey toward Ouarzazate through the High Atlas Mountains. Enjoy beautiful scenery, authentic Berber villages, and panoramic mountain views along the way. Stop to visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, one of Morocco's most iconic fortified villages, and continue toward Ouarzazate, known as the cinema capital of Africa. After lunch, which is not included, drive through Agdz and the beautiful Draa Valley, famous for its palm groves, ksour, and kasbahs. Arrive in Zagora in the late afternoon and enjoy a camel ride of around 1 hour and 30 minutes in the desert at sunset. After reaching the camp, enjoy mint tea with nomads, walk on the dunes, admire the sunset, and relax under the desert sky. In the evening, enjoy a traditional dinner followed by nomad music around the campfire before spending the night in a Berber tent at Tizi Camp.

Day 2 Zagora Desert to Ait Ben Haddou and Marrakech

Wake up early to watch the magical desert sunrise and enjoy the first light of the day over the Zagora landscape. After breakfast at the camp, ride camels back to meet your vehicle and begin the return journey to Marrakech. Stop again to visit Ait Ben Haddou, a famous 16th-century kasbah and one of the most beautiful historic places in southern Morocco. After the visit, enjoy free time for lunch, which is not included, then continue the journey back through the Atlas Mountains. Arrival in Marrakech is usually around 6:30 PM, depending on traffic, weather, and stops.
